  • Day 1

    Nairobi/Sweetwaters

    Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary arriving well in time for lunch at Sweetwater Tented Camp. Afternoon game drive including a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. The chimpanzees’ natural home range spans from Senegal on the West African coast, through the central forested belt of Africa, to Uganda. They are not native to Kenya, but when a rescue centre in Burundi had to be closed due to the civil war outbreak in 1993 – Ol Pejeta opened its doors. Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary has been compelled to keep accepting chimpanzees rescued from traumatic situations – bringing the total number of chimpanzees in the Sanctuary to 35. Dinner and overnight at the luxury tented camp (with an optional night game drive).

  • Day 2

    Sweetwaters/Samburu

    Depart after breakfast and drive further north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve arriving Samburu Game Lodge in time lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  • Day 3

    Samburu

    Spend the day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, guided nature and bird walks.

    The reserve is reached in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special). The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction, birdlife is abundant with over 450 species recorded. Critically endangered species under CITIES – Pancake tortoise (malacochersus tornieri) is found in the reserve.

  • Day 4

    Samburu/Mountain Lodge

    After breakfast drive to the lower slopes of Mount Kenya arriving Serena Mountain Lodge well in time for lunch. Secreted within the deep forest reserve, this lodge offers game viewing opportunities and a glorious panorama of the mountain. The bedrooms are furnished with indigenous wood and African art, each with private bath-room. Their spacious balconies overlook the water-hole where a continual procession of animals come to drink, bathe, spar and forage around. Dinner and overnight at the tree lodge.

  • Day 5

    Mountain Lodge/Lake Nakuru

    Depart after breakfast and drive via Thomsons Falls to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving Sarova Lion Hill Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  • Day 6

    Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara

    Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving Lodge/Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at lodge.

  • Day 7 & 8

    Masai Mara

    Spend two days in this wonderful game reserve, with early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will have the best opportunity of spotting the buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant and rhino popularly known as the big five. You may opt to go out with picnic lunch boxes to spend most of the time in the park, coming back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Visit to Manyatta (local Maasai villages) available at an extra fee payable direct to the village elders. All meals and overnight at Lodge/Camp.

  • Day 9

    Maasai Mara/Nairobi

    Another early morning pre-breakfast game drive, then bid farewell to Maasai Mara and drive back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or transfer to the airport for your onward flight home. End of services.
